Hormonal Imbalance

Finally I gathered my courage to book an appointment with a gynae to find out what's wrong with me. Scared, anxious, curious and every bit of other feelings has mixed into one. Scared to find out about the truth, anxious and curious to know. I called up DEMC to find a suitable gynae even though I've given birth to Amalia there last 2 years. Reluctant to meet a male gynae but for today's slot, only him is available. And ironically, he was there when I gave birth. He was the doctor on-call. Actually, I like him too. He is a good doctor. He'll explain from A to Z in the simplest word and he ensures we understand what he has explained. He even tells us what are the consequences will be so that we will get the idea. Basically he'll inform you before you asked. And he is also a specialist in fertility.
When he saw my scanned picture given by the general clinic, he said there shouldn't be anything to worry about. It looks like my cyst has swollen from its original size. But he said, he is going to do another scan to look deeper. Then he asked me to tell him since when it went wrong. So I started telling him. Not leaving any intimate details so that he'll get the better picture. Its crucial. And my Mr Hubby is there as well. Then he took note on my weight and height. The horror part : I"M OBESE. Obese due to this hormone imbalance. He has expected that actually. He also told me, that is why I'm facing with hair loss too.
Then he started to do the scanning. He also ensure Mr Hubby is with him. Understand what the situation like. Then he asked Mr Hubby to leave the room as he needs to do scanned from down under. I did not ask why but I think I can figure out why. Some husbands are very offended when somebody else is doing something at his wife's vagina. Well, that's the reason I assume. I might be wrong. From the scan, we can actually have a better view of the cyst and womb.
Thankfully the cyst only swollen. There are nothing in it. However on the other side of ovary, the are some poly-cyst. As Dr Zamri said, "We called it poly because it is more than one". Then Mr Hubby is called into the room again and Dr Zamri by now has everything ready in hand. He has the figure of ovary. He explained clearly what actually happen. The cyst is only 3cm. He said we shouldn't be worry about anything, but.. the cyst might getting bigger. So he is going to monitor my case closely. He said if you are wondering whether this kind of cyst will lead to cervical cancer, I wouldn't lie. It might but then again will depends on other factors as well. So for the time being, he wanted me to stop worrying. And the other ovary which has the poly-cysts. So far, it occurred due to hormone imbalance. And unlucky for me, it has increased the male hormone instead. The famous - T.E.S.T.O.S.T.E.R.O.N.E. What it does to my body? It cause the body to be obese. And as the first step to curb this, Dr Zamri is going to put me into a weight-management program. He prescribed me a medicine called Slenfig-10. To take daily for a month and to come back to see him. He also prescribed me Glucophage to curb sugar level. Mine is not high but since my family has the history of diabetes, to avoid before it happen. This is due to the male hormone. And I was out from his room smiling.
Why I was smiling? Because, it explained why I cannot fit into some of my clothes and those unnecessary numbers on weight scale. Even though I hate to admit it's because of my eating style as well.
So, I'll start the medicine tomorrow and we wait and see.
Till then, Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha to all Muslim.
